Introduction
The Laboratory of Global Change Ecology which focuses on the plant community succession, ecosystem changes, global change ecology and biogeochemical cycles, is founded by Professor Shiqiang Wan. Using field ecosystem manipulative experiments as the main method, our lab has been devoting to exploring the impact of global change driving factors and human interference (elevated atmospheric CO2, climate warming, changing precipitation regimes, nitrogen deposition, land-use/cover change, fire, etc.) on the structure and function (carbon, nitrogen and water cycles) of plants and ecosystems as well as their adaptation and feedback mechanisms in typical terrestrial ecosystems (grassland, forest and wetland ecosystems). Relevant results have been published in top journals including Nature, Nature Geoscience, Nature Ecology & Evolution, Ecology Letters, Global Change Biology, New Phytologist, etc. To date, more than 10 long-term manipulative experiments have been set up at the temperate semi-arid grassland in Duolun County, Inner Mongolia and Dabie Mountain Forest in Xinyang, Henan. The "Baiyangdian Shallow Lake Wetland Ecosystem Observation and Research Station" is under construction now (Xiong’an, Hebei).
